Nicola Dugdale
Administrative Coordinator
Born and raised in England to a family of animal lovers, Nicola has never lived in a home without a pet, most of whom were adopted. Nicola always had cats growing up, along with rabbits, gerbils and goldfish, but was never allowed to have a dog.
After receiving a Bachelors in graphic design & photography, and spending several years traveling, Nicola decided to move to New York to get a Masters in Education. She quickly found working as a pet sitter was a wonderful way to spend time with animals, while still having time to study. After graduation she tried fostering.
Her first foster dog was a senior golden retriever whom she adopted three days later. Having a older dog taught her a lot about dog health and nutrition. When she adopted her first puppy several years later, she began to learn the importance of training and keeping dogs mentally active.
After moving away from the field of education and becoming more fascinated by all aspects of owning a dog, Nicola's first introduction to Shelter Chic was as a foster. She has since started working behind the scenes to help more animals find their forever home but continues to provide a temporary place for any animal that is approved of by her own dog.
